Sometimes, what you want the most doesnt happen,
and what you least expect, happens.
So for the past few months, I have not been happy at E.Restaurant.
I had been wondering why, trying to be content at E.Restaurant, trying to find ANOTHER job, trying to find out where God wanted me at.
I have been looking for nanny-jobs nearby, and abroad. I wanted to stay close by, because I had been really excited about moving in with my sister (twweeeedle!). But nothing was becoming available (at least, nothing I was especially EXCITED to do..). I had applied to a dozen or so “nanny/au pair abroad” programs. A couple nanny job options seemed promising, I was excited, but then they fell flat (either logic and/or a realization…).
After a specifically horrifying day at E.Restaurant I decided I would rather give my two weeks and still be looking for a job, then to continue working there.
I told my pastry chef, and she understands. She had wanted to “leave” also, but I had a feeling my desire to leave was stronger than hers. And she might not be as motivated as I was.
But at least she’s on my side.
Weelll, look who messaged me saying he gave his two weeks! None other than Mr S.
And guess who called me, the next day, begging me to help him out. Mr Jefe! The boss-man @ B.Restaurant!
I dont know WHY in the world he hadnt pinned down someone for pastry, (he was really busy and has other stressful priorities that were greater?) after the previous pastry person gave his two weeks. But that previous pastry guy had his last day on Sunday.
And as of that moment, at 4:45pm on Monday, they only had an extern working pastry @ nights. Who only had less than 3 weeks experience. And was leaving in two weeks.
And at that moment, peace.
Napa, here I come!
I felt like B.Restaurant was the answer. It was perfect timing (Mr S was leaving), I wanted out of E.Restaurant, and a job that wasnt tooooo permanent. Plus, a bonus was that I was helping him out – and he owed me. Big time.
Which pretty much means I have control over my schedule. And my vacations I want to take. And when I want to leave (if I ever get a nanny job..).
The only negative? Gas is closing in on $4 a gallon.
Oh, and that Dolphy (my car)Â is in the repair shop.. So I have to drive my mom’s minivan.
