OverandOverandOver

“Wasteland”

I’m the first one in line to die
When the cavalry comes
Yeah it feels like the great divide
Has already come
Yeah I’m wasting my way through days
losing youth along the wayOh if God is on my side
Yeah, if God is on my side
Oh, if God is on my side
Then who can be against me

There was a greatness I felt for awhile
But somehow it changed
Some kind of blindness I used to protect me
From all of my stains
Yeah I wish this was vertigo
But it just feels like I’m falling slow

Oh if God is on my side
Then who can be against me
Yeah , In this wasteland where I’m livin’
There is a crack in the door filled with light
And it’s all that I need to get by
Yeah, In this wasteland where I’m livin’
There is a crack in the door filled with light
And it’s all that I need to shine
All of these people I meet
It seems like they’re fine
Yeah in some ways I hope that they’re not
And their hearts are like mine
Yeah, It’s wrong when it seems like work
To belong all I feel is hurt
Oh, If God is on my side
Yeah, if God is on my side
Oh, If God is on my side
Who can be against me?

The Hot Roadtrip.

Since I finally have wheels in Dubai, we decided to make the most of it!

Destination: Oman

Officially the Sultanate of Oman (Arabic: سلطنة عُمانSalṭanat ʻUmān), it is an Arab state in Southwest Asia, on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula, where it holds a strategically important position at the mouth of the Persian Gulf. The nation is bordered by the United Arab Emirates to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west, and Yemen to the southwest, and shares marine borders with Iran and Pakistan.

This trip was not thought through very well.

All we knew was that we (Renee, Kimmy, and I) wanted to go to Oman.

And to get there by car.

(We had already picked a nice hotel to be our destination. Probably the most researched thing about this trip!)

Now, I would recommend bringing at least a map,  so that when your google maps on your phone stop working, it will make things a little easier. Also, have a car with air conditioning that works.

We had found ourselves lost, still an hour away from our hotel, driving from one McDonald’s to another in hopes of finding wifi. (Mc D, you really let us down when we needed you most)

Long story short, our 5 1/2 hour road trip stretched out to be 8 hours. And we were sweaty and tired by the time we made it to the hotel — but so happy. Thank God for random wifi hot spots at restaurants!

Our vacation more than made up for it. It was just perfect.

Kayaking at 8am was the best.

It was hard to say goodbye – so different than being in Dubai ! They had mountains and blue skies with puffy clouds. And not to mention warm but not I’m-gonna-die temperatures that Dubai was having at the moment.

Can’t wait to go back!

Plan of attack

I was looking for a piece of paper to write out a list of things to do, and came across my old notebook of notes I had made during my devotions.
And I found this gold mine.

Comes from Genesis 3 footnotes of my bible (or so I had written).

Satan’s plan against us

DOUBT: makes you question God’s Word and His goodness.

DISCOURAGEMENT: makes you look at your problems rather than at God.

DIVERSION: makes the wrong things seem attractive so that you will want them more than the right things.

DEFEAT: makes you feel like a failure so that you don’t even try.

DELAY: makes you put off doing something so that it never gets done.

I really needed to be reminded of this.
