Moscow

Moscow,Russia

Moscow is the capital city and the most populous federal subject of Russia.

Moscow was my very first layover I ever did.

It was my 2nd SUPY flight (where I wasn’t actually operating as an actual flight attendant, it was more for me to observe). And I was in awe of everything.

Shaina, my batchmate for the past 7 week training course, and fellow SUPY !

I just remember how I couldn’t believe I was visiting Russia. It seemed so foreign, a place I never would have actually visited had I not joined Emirates. It reminded me of snow and fur hats and thick accents.

Some of the other crew members. It was some serious cold, I think I remember it being -7 degrees Celsius.

Needless to say it was an amazing layover filled with seeing the Red Square, eating borsch, and lots of snow.

One of the perks of being a SUPY is the fact that you get to sit in the cockpit during take off and landing.

And leaving Russia was exciting. So much snow. We got to see planes having to go through the process of being de-iced. It was a pretty neat experience.

Look at all that snow.

de-icing! Trucks would come alongside the planes and spray it with fumes.

  I went again to Moscow, a year later (almost to the day!). It was crazy to think of all the places I had been to within those two flights.

A year later, and she’s just as pretty.

Mission: Flight Attendant

I want to be a flight attendant.

This week, I did a lot of things I have never done before..

Things Jessica has never done before:

1) I flew on a red-eye to Georgia.

2) I rode stand-by { I went from not thinking I wasnt going to make the overbooked flight, to making it AND- getting upgraded. see #3}

3) Flew 1st class! {Too bad I slept through most of that flight… But I did get a free banana out of it.}

4) Took a taxi. {I accidentally didn’t tip the guy…}

5) Hung out with a gay guy {he was the only male flight-attendant hopeful}

6) Fell asleep while sitting up. {Not the most comfortable position.}

7)Took BART/Amtrak – alone.

8 ) Managed NOT to get lost while taking BART/Amtrak alone.

The End.

PS I helped educate the east coast on “dirty shirleys”. I cannot believe no one has heard of one before. Shirley temple & vodka people! Drink it! {credit: fellow pastry girl, H., from B.Restaurant}

Birthdays & Convo’s

Happy Birthday Mommy!

One more year and you will be 50.

Conversation that happened while in the parking lot of a 7-11.

“Okay, I bet that hispanic woman got her shirt from a garage sale.” -Katie

“What? Why?” -Ma

“Because its big and it just hangs.” -K

“Well, sometimes when you are larger, its harder to find shirts that fit.” -Ma

“She is definitely larger on top” -Me

“…and it just hangs” -K

Superbowl was fun!

Green Bay won. whoop!

Half time show was lame. Black-Eyed Peas.

So last night I woke up randomly and heard a song playing on the radio.

And I liked it.

But I dont remember the lyrics to it..

But I DO remember hearing THIS song today, and I realized I LIKED it:

And finally, my new favorite movie:

(go watch it. now.)

You never forget your first love.

Uno.

Hi.

Its my first post!  Ack. Lets see how long this blogging thing lasts. Although I LOVE doing things like this, I always forget too.

Ok, lets get deep guys.

I’d like to think of myself as I non-dramatic, laid back, emotionally stable girl. Me the jealous type? Nope!  I would never be stupid enough to like someone who wasnt right for me, right? AND I’m not obsessive, by the way.

Boy was I wrong.

Along comes Mr. S, with all his charm and swagger. Little ‘ol me didn’t even have a chance, guys! I was a goner before I even realized. And whats worse, is the fact that I was in denial. We were “J.F’s”. Nothing more! He didnt like me! I didnt like him! It was all cool.

Denial with a capital D.
