Video Collections: Italia

That time the sister, the bro in law, and I went on a road trip through Italy !

From Milan to Rome

Holiday mode.

What I have been doing this past week.

The Hot Roadtrip.

Since I finally have wheels in Dubai, we decided to make the most of it!

Destination: Oman

Officially the Sultanate of Oman (Arabic: سلطنة عُمانSalṭanat ʻUmān), it is an Arab state in Southwest Asia, on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula, where it holds a strategically important position at the mouth of the Persian Gulf. The nation is bordered by the United Arab Emirates to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west, and Yemen to the southwest, and shares marine borders with Iran and Pakistan.

This trip was not thought through very well.

All we knew was that we (Renee, Kimmy, and I) wanted to go to Oman.

And to get there by car.

(We had already picked a nice hotel to be our destination. Probably the most researched thing about this trip!)

Now, I would recommend bringing at least a map,  so that when your google maps on your phone stop working, it will make things a little easier. Also, have a car with air conditioning that works.

We had found ourselves lost, still an hour away from our hotel, driving from one McDonald’s to another in hopes of finding wifi. (Mc D, you really let us down when we needed you most)

Long story short, our 5 1/2 hour road trip stretched out to be 8 hours. And we were sweaty and tired by the time we made it to the hotel — but so happy. Thank God for random wifi hot spots at restaurants!

Our vacation more than made up for it. It was just perfect.

Celebratory drinks that we finally made it to the hotel !

Kimmy’s action shot!

Kayaking at 8am was the best.

Boat rides and scuba diving.

It was hard to say goodbye – so different than being in Dubai ! They had mountains and blue skies with puffy clouds. And not to mention warm but not I’m-gonna-die temperatures that Dubai was having at the moment.

Can’t wait to go back!

Twenty Four

Part One of the Twin Trip:

Flic en Flac

Flic en Flac is a seaside village on the western part of the island of Mauritius in the district of Rivière Noire.

Birthday trip planning went something like this:

Mauritius  ->   Rome  ->  Amsterdam  -> Phuket  -> (and back to) Mauritius.

Mauritius. You were perfect.

Thank you.

Our cozy little beach spot.

Our trip went way too quickly. With only 5 days off together before my next flight (which -lucky me – was SFO), we really had to make it a whirlwind trip.

So after a sun-filled beach day, our next day was at this wildlife park.

We zip-lined.

Pet a cheetah.

Walked with lions.

Hiked up a (small) mountain.

Fed peacocks and baby chicks.

Watched a turtle eat a worm.

It all made for a great day.

Mauritius sending us off with a pretty sunset.

Part Two of our trip:

Thanks to our procrastinating and last minute trip planning, some of the things we had wanted to do were already booked. But that just means Katie will have to come back and visit, teehee.

And we made up for it by having drinks on the 123rd floor of the Burj Khalifa.

Checking out the views of the worlds tallest building.

No biggie.

Lets go to Seychelles!

When I first heard about Seychelles, I thought it was spelled Sea Shells and that it sounded pretty great.

I found out that’s not how it’s spelled.

And it was pretty great.

My brother was in love with the local beer they had.

Everything was so relaxed on the island. It seemed like no one had anywhere to go.

We also went on the off season – so hardly any tourists!

Shannon was a pro at driving on the “wrong” side of the road by now. She had all of Ireland to practice 😉

I was so glad to go there for my sister’s birthday weekend.

It was such a fun trip and I can’t wait to plan another one!

Happy Birthday Shanny ❤

The first official Girls Trip.

Chels and I took our first official girls trip while we had days off.

Our trip to New York was really quick (we spent more time travelling then actually being in NY), but it was so worth it.

You realize what you take for granted  once its gone – like being with people who love America.

And want to celebrate it.

On the 4th of July.

Our View before the fireworks started.

So many things to say about this trip. Hey Chels..

“Remember that time you cried on the plane because of page #3 of a book?”

“.. we woke up crew sleeping in the CRC?”

“..  when we tattled on the guy who tried to cut in line with us?”

“..I accidentally kept saying things I shouldnt say?”

“..we had 30 minutes to find purses and shoes?”

“..I left my ID at the hotel?”

“ used that guys deoderant?”

“..the lady with no makeup beat us?”

“..we used the photobooth?”

“..the cops used their megaphone to tell us to stop?”

“..we spent $200 on a hotel with no breakfast included?”

“..we went and saw John Mayer?”

“..i poked you in the eye with my passport?”

“..the lady by the window seat wouldnt let us sit together?”

“..when the same lady told us to ‘move it’ and you said ‘excuse you!’ ?”

“..when we finally made it back on the Sarab bus, and we couldnt wait to do it again?”

I had so much fun, girl!

Lets do it agian.
